George's Favourite Oatmeal

The boy can't get enough of this stuff; he'll eat a whole adult-size serving. And no wonder...the creamy blend of oats and banana makes him smile every time. And mom smiles too when the bowl is empty.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup 1869 Oatmeal
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed with fork
  • handful of raisins or cranberries
  • dollop of yogurt

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a small saucepan, add water and salt and bring to a hard boil
  2. turn down the heat, add oats, milk and stir
  3. add mashed banana and raisins and stir
  4. simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally
  5. top with yogurt and serve

Makes 2 portions or 1 monster-sized portion

TIP: If oatmeal begins to stick to pan or dry out excessively, turn down heat slightly, add more milk (or water) and stir
