George's Favourite Oatmeal
The boy can't get enough of this stuff; he'll eat a whole adult-size serving. And no wonder...the creamy blend of oats and banana makes him smile every time. And mom smiles too when the bowl is empty.
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup 1869 Oatmeal
- 2/3 cup water
- 2/3 cup milk
- pinch of salt
- 1 ripe banana, mashed with fork
- handful of raisins or cranberries
- dollop of yogurt
DIRECTIONS
- In a small saucepan, add water and salt and bring to a hard boil
- turn down the heat, add oats, milk and stir
- add mashed banana and raisins and stir
- simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally
- top with yogurt and serve
Makes 2 portions or 1 monster-sized portion
TIP: If oatmeal begins to stick to pan or dry out excessively, turn down heat slightly, add more milk (or water) and stir
